X-Master 1.5 Free Extension (Hack) Manager

X-Master does not run on Palm OS 5.

Starting with the new Palm OS 5, PalmSource has decided to no longer support hacks. There is no longer a way to patch system functions. As a consequence, X-Master and other hack managers will not work on OS 5 and above.

A new set of notifications is available in OS 5 to allow implementing hack-like functionality in some cases. Our screenshot application ScreenShot5 uses this feature to capture Palm screens in other applications.

Unfortunately, not everything hacks could do can be achieved with notifications. Some hacks simply won't be possible anymore. That's why we have no plans on trying to emulate trap patching for hacks on OS 5.

We suggest hack users should contact the respective developers and ask if they plan to publish a new version compatible with OS 5.
