SongBook Songs and Chords

Soon sync with Google Drive will no longer be possible in SongBook.

What will happen?

When Google removes SongBook's access to Drive, the sync will show an error. You will no longer be able to update songs or playlists to or from Google Drive. Your files will still be available in SongBook, and in Drive.

What are my alternatives?

You can use any of the other cloud sync options that SongBook currently supports: Dropbox, MS OneDrive, iCloud Drive (on Apple platforms), or Nextcloud.

You can also manually update the whole SongBook folder, or a sub folder, via a USB connection to a Windows or Mac laptop/PC. This will also work with Google Drive if you have Drive sync running on the laptop.

Why will Google Drive sync stop working for SongBook?

To be able to access the SongBook folder in Drive, Google requires a yearly CASA security review of our app. We passed the review in the past but are unable to sustain this effort every year, especially since the rules are constantly changing.

What about the desktop apps SongBook for Windows or SongBook for Mac?

On Windows or macOS you use the Google Drive Sync app to sync your files and folders. SongBook on these platforms can still read and write the synchronized song folder.
